Help with Zoom Meetings

How do you want to connect to the meeting?

Zoom allows a number of different options when connecting to meetings:
Connect using your Phone:
  1. Start by dialing the default phone number which is (253)-215-8782 (note this is not a local phone number.  Most people with cell phones have free unlimited calling, but know your plan).  If the default phone number is busy, you can try any of the following numbers:
    1. (346)-248-7799
    2. (669)-900-9128
    3. (312)-626-6799

  1. You will then be prompted to enter the meeting ID followed by #
    1. 918-5161-5243  is the meeting ID for Workplace Prayer on Monday
    2. 961-4103-6514  is the meeting ID for Effective Prayer on Tuesday
    3. 985-8783-9474  is the meeting ID for Open Prayer on Thursday

  1. You may also be prompted for a password and you may not.  If you are prompted for a password it is the same for all meetings and is simply the church's address:
    1. 15024 followed by #

  1. If the meeting has not already started, you may hear a prompt to enter a host key.  Just press # to bypass that and wait for the host to arrive

Controls for Dial-In Participants
The following are the commands available to phone users while in a Zoom meeting:

  • *6 – Toggles between your voice being muted or unmuted
  • *9 -  Isn't really  used in our meetings, but allows the user to “raise their hand”

Connect using your PC:
This is one of the easiest ways to connect, but it will require that you have speakers and a microphone set up on your computer at a bear minimum (you can of course use a headset with mic if you prefer).

The short video below will show you the basic process.  Note that you don't need a link emailed to you.  You can simply click on the Zoom icon for the meeting you wish to attend ->

By Clicking this button on the Events page, you can access the meeting you wish to attend.

How about a little bit of both?!

If you are attending a video meeting and want to be able to see the video, but don't have a camera or microphone on your computer, you can still do so by using the best of both worlds!

First, follow the instructions above to connect to the meeting via your phone (that will give you the audio portion).

Then using your computer, click on the meeting link as described above in "connect using your PC".  You will actually be in the meeting twice, but that's OK!  You will have the audio AND you will be able to see the video as well!
