Interestingly, most people in the church today would agree that the Bible holds the key to life and Godliness, yet few have actually taken the time to read it for themselves. Far too many only know what they’ve been told about the Bible, usually in small quips from a weekly sermon or brief message.
People are often surprised by the pragmatic and relevant teachings found in the Bible; covering topics such as relationships, marriage, money management, raising children, community living, caring for the poor, racial prejudice, and of course, a myriad of spiritual issues. Isn't it time to find out for yourself what the Bible has to say about things like angels, prayer, Heaven, worship, prophecy, Christ’s return, the Holy Spirit and most importantly, eternal life?
I would like to personally invite you to participate in what we are calling “The New Testament Challenge!” The challenge: To read the entire New Testament for yourself over a twelve week period beginning Monday January 25th. Maybe you have read the Bible before, but its been a while; why not take a fresh look? Maybe this is the first time; aren't you just a little curious?
Five different congregations here in Fountain Hills are participating in this challenge including: Christ’s Church, First Baptist Church, Fountain Hills Christian Center, Calvary Chapel, and of course Desert Creek Fellowship. A number of other congregations outside Fountain Hills as well as local home groups have also taken up the challenge.
The reading schedule is available at any of the five participating churches or you can simply download a copy below (along with the journal we are using). Need a Bible? Just let us know and we will be happy to give you one (or you can download a free copy for your MP3 Player).
Wouldn’t you like to know what the New Testament really says (and maybe just as importantly, what it doesn’t say)?
